WATERMELON COOKIES! :-)
*Disclaimer: No actual watermelons were harmed in the making of these cookies.*
These cookies were made using sugar cookie dough that had been dyed pink. We rolled out the dough and cut little circles, then we cut the circles in half. This formed the watermelon "slices."
Then we took the little half circles and pressed mini-chocolate chips into the uncooked dough. This was kind of a long and tedious project... but it had to be done! For the sake of the awesome southern cookies!
The yummy little morsels were then cooked in the oven. After they had come out of the oven and were cooled- we dipped the rounded edge of the half circle in green frosting. I don't have a picture of the final result... but the process looked something like this: (It was fun!)
